What is the EU GDPR Foundation course?

What does a Data Protection Officer (DPO) do?

This EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Foundation training course will inform you of the roles and responsibilities of a Data Protection Office (DPO). This is a new role which will be entitled to an individual on the basis of their professional abilities, knowledge of data protection laws and practices, and their capability to complete the tasks referred to in Article 39.

These tasks are:

To notify and advise the Data Controller or the Processor and the employees who are processing personal data of their obligations pursuant to this Regulation.
To monitor compliance with this Regulation, including the allocation of tasks, raising awareness, and training team members involved in processing operations, and related audits.
To collaborate with the supervisory authority (the ICO).
To give advice where requested in respect of the data protection impact assessment and monitor its performance consistent with Article 35.
To be the point of contact for the supervisory authority on matters associated with the processing of personal data.
