Gloucester

Gloucester is a city in located in the southwest England. It is near to the bank the river Severn and also acts as a mediator between the Cotswolds to the east and the Forest of Dean to the southwest. Welsh border is only at a few distance from here.

This city has very good background in the business sector, especially in the aerospace industry. Gloucester is a city of 18 wards and 39 councillors are assigned for these wards to serve the council of the city. Gloucester is on 53^rd rank in population in the United Kingdom. Its population increased rapidly from 2002 to 2012.

Festivals:

The international Rhythm and Blues festival of the Gloucester celebrated every year at the end of July or beginning of august. Also some international festivals like Cajun and Zydeco which are the longest-running festivals in the Europe. The famous Halloween festival which is celebrated mostly in the south west is considered to be evolved from the Gloucester. Among all the festivals, the Three Choirs Festival is the oldest music festival during the 18^th century.

Attraction:

City is full of many museums but ‘The Museum of Gloucester’ is the main museum of the city whereas a special gallery only including the natural world art is also a famous place of this city. The name of this art gallery is ‘Nature of Art’. River Severn is on the eastern side of the city whereas the Forest of Dean are on the west side. The Malvern Hills are on the north side of the city.

Year 2007 has an important role in the history of the Gloucester. A deadly flood in that area was resulted in the loss of several deaths. The whole city had to suffer a lot because of this disaster for approximately 17 days. Only one old public building- the New Inn is left having a lot of external galleries and courtyards.
