Carlisle is a city located in Cumbria. Actually, Cumbria is known as the administrative Centre of the Carlisle, which is situated in North-west England. This city is situated at the meeting point of the rivers Eden, Caldew and Petteril which is at a distance of 10 miles from the south of the Scottish border.
It is the centre of administration for Carlisle City as well as Cumbria County Council.There was a huge rise in population from 2001 to 2011. Carlisle was a part of Scotland in 1066 and new Carlisle Cathedral was built in 1133. Although Carlisle was a headquarters of the Border Regiment, yet the importance of the city decreased with the introduction of the industrial age. Transportation of the city improved from 1900 to 1931. Carlisle is that city of Cumbria which includes maximum stores, that is 75. The whole system of the city is managed by the district council. This council not only handles the city but also governed many nearby villages.

Carlisle is situated at a distance of 56 miles from the west of Newcastle upon Tyne, whereas from the north, it is 71 miles away from Lancaster. Its distance is 93 miles from the south of Edinburgh whereas located at 120 miles from the north-west of the York. The distance of Carlisle is 300 miles from the north-north-west of London.
Attraction:
The climate of this area is mainly oceanic. Many famous places like Lowry Hill, Mooresville, Stanwix, and St Ann’s Hill are located on the outskirts of this city. The University of Cumbria has many campuses out of which Fusehill Street, Brampton Road, Paternoster Row and Newcastle Street are in Carlise. In 2005, Carlisle gained the tag of Fairtrade City. The main buildings of the city are Cathedral city walls Tithe Bam and Citadel towers. New shopping Centre having central library was introduced in 1986. The Governor of Carlisle stamps out his post in 1838.
